We warmly welcomed Mary Doyle MP for Aston, Healthscope COO Nicole Waldron and State Manager Chris Hewison to Knox Private Hospital to unveil the final stage of our two year redevelopment project with the official opening of our expanded ICU and CCU.
Knox Private Hospital is positioned well to care for more high acuity patients, in partnership with our doctors and surgeons.
Well done to the teams involved in all the the planning to ensure a well designed environment to provide the best care to patients and families at Knox. We are now well posisitioned to support more higher acuity care for our patients in partnership with our doctors.
Knox opens new Intensive Care and Coronary Care units

This week Healthscope unveiled the final stage of Knox Private Hospital’s redevelopment with its expanded Intensive Care and Coronary Care units, with the opening officiated by Mary Doyle MP for Aston.
The new and expanded ICU now has 14 beds, while the new CCU has expanded from 10 to 17 beds.
With more spacious private rooms, some overlooking gardens, the redeveloped ICU and CCU also provide an optimal working environment for our doctors and nurses. The redeveloped units will also provide a better experience for patient’s families with a beautiful private new family room in the ICU that will provide a comfortable place for families waiting for patients undergoing treatment.

Both units are already fully operational for patients.

Knox Private Hospital today officially unveiled its multi-million redevelopment with a modern three storey extension.
The redevelopment has added two new patient wards with ensuite single rooms, an upgraded diagnostic cardiology unit, new patient admissions area. A new main reception, a new expanded pharmacy and a new café have also been added.

Further work is planned for Knox Private Hospital, with additional specialist consulting suites and an exciting upgrade and expansion to its intensive care and coronary care units will be completed early next year.
Knox Private Hospital services Melbourne’s east and south-eastern suburbs, as well as regional east Victoria. With 290 beds it is the largest private hospital in Victoria’s east and provides a full range of surgical and medical services, including a 24-hour emergency department, cardiology centre (diagnostics, interventional cardiology, structural heart and cardiothoracic surgery) bariatric, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, coronary care and intensive care unit and more. It has served its community for 30 years.
