Dear Community,

You might have seen some coverage in The Age today (Thursday 20th August) reporting a small number of COVID cases among our nursing staff caring for our COVID patients.
The reporting was in the context of the COVID outbreak at Frankston Public Hospital. We want to reassure you that they are in no way connected to the more substantial Frankston Public outbreak currently under investigation, and none of our staff work across both sites.
We can also advise that those staff who have tested positive worked only with our COVID patients, who reside in a ward isolated from the rest of the hospital. These staff have had no contact with any other patients or staff, and are currently isolating away from the hospital.
DHHS are fully briefed on these matters and are comfortable we have all appropriate safety protocols in place for staff, VMOs and patients.
We are continuing to support our COVID-positive staff who are currently isolating, and we thank our staff who are continuing to undertake the vitally important work of caring for our COVID patients.

Thank-you for your support,

Knox Private Hospital
